Old Business:

• Fall fly-in date set for Oct 27^th, the 28^th will be the rain date.

  • Al will start contacting pilots to fly Young Eagles at the fall event.

• B-17 visit Nov 8 – 11

  • Anyone interested in a B-17 ride should go on line to buy tickets ahead of time. Aircraft tours should be available the day of the event.

  • We need volunteers for marshaling people and support the airplane ops.

  • Should go online and take the youth protection training if not accomplished in the last two years.

New Business:

• No new business

Main Discussion / Tech Talk:

• We discussed airport and runway conditions around South Carolina

• Discussed the planned fencing of Loris airport (5J9).

• Noted that Whiteville airport (KCPC) has reopened with the best price on 100LL anywhere around.

• Also discussed some of the history of Conway airport (KHYW), the aviation schools that once populated it and how it has changed over the years.
